Pinterest is becoming one of the fastest-growing social networking sites on the web. As a marketer there are huge SEO (search engine optimization) gains to be made by using pinterest. It offers many unique tools to boost your SEO. Thanks

I agree! You can rank within 48 hours for Pinterest for the SAME KEYWORD that takes months to rank using traditional organic SEO tactics! LOVE IT.

Maybe pinterest changed something since you wrote this, but #luxury-word2-word3 will do the hashtag only use the word “luxury”, no matter if you make a keyword x-x-x searchable for google.

So why even use the hashtag, since it doesnt have any really point besides for internal search on pinterest? (i might misunderstood everything, and if thats the case im sorry).

Hi, Morten! I would go for more of a long-tail keyword, since it is more achievable! Otherwise, you are a little fish in an ENORMOUS pool of luxury-related keywords… Either way – keep in mind that just using a hashtag isn’t enough. You need to use the keyword in your description, the pin and (preferably) the name of the pinboard. That boosts the relevancy, which is essential for making it Google-friendly instead of just usable for Pinterest search.

I don’t disagree that, if don’t write and respectfully, you can use hashtags and keywords as a SEO tool, I’m just curious why you add the – within the hashtag? I have seen excellent results without the -.

    • http://rockthestatusquo.com Carrie Morgan

Hi, Amanda! You can get results without separating your keywords with a hyphen, sure, but it carries an element of risk and assumes a certain level of logic and intelligence that search spiders/algorithms don’t always have.

We prefer to up the odds in our favor by following Google best practices. Why leave it up to chance (and math) – and assume the crawler won’t pull the wrong word out of that string of letters – when it is so easy to be crystal clear?

Hello there! I know this is kinda off topic however , I’d figured I’d ask. Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest writing a blog post or vice-versa? My site discusses a lot of the same subjects as yours and I feel we could greatly benefit from each other. If you are interested feel free to send me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you! Great blog by the way!

I have used pinterest to optimize my site and it has improved from page 7 to #3 spot in 3 weeks time.

I found that the seller named “pinterest”, which ranked first when you search “pinterest” at Fiverr, has produced the best results on my websites. The seller pins my site with 75 different people, not sure how he did this, but it has improved my SERP’s ranking. I’ve tried 5 other sellers who offer similar gigs on Fiverr but they can’t improve my site’s ranking. I don’t know why. Maybe he has magical trick. lol.

Some advantages of pinterest for seo:
    - Links and images from pinterest are dofollow!
    - Each pin is considered as 3 inbound links.
    - Google loves social media signal.

Hi! I’ve had great results ranking with Pinterest, too – especially for keywords that are highly competitive. It falls in ranking very quickly, though, unless you keep adding fresh pins to the board.

I would never recommend Fiverr for any SEO work, though. Search engine optimization is a profession fraught with inexperienced people and outright fraud, and Fiverr is saturated with those kinds of people looking for a quick buck but rarely delivering results. It would be like expecting a five-star chef to cook your $4 McDonald’s burger; you get what you pay for.
